The beads tell a story of powerful women

Despite the disparaging circumstances in which they find themselves as a result of war, AIDS and other factors, the women of Northern Uganda are far from helpless. Caring individuals have taught some how to make beautiful “eco-friendly” jewelry out of recycled paper. With access to a sustainable market for their crafts, these women are able to independently provide for their families’ needs.

African Promise Foundation purchases African Promise Beads from women in Northern Uganda. The wealth generated by these sales goes back into Northern Ugandan communities to care for orphaned children, who are desperately in need of compassionate care and education. In this way, these bright and capable children are provided an opportunity to lift themselves and their future families out of the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for their people and this beautiful country!
